2020 Banquet Recap

On January 11, 2020, Arrowmen of Sasquehanough Lodge 11 along with their guests and families enjoyed a relaxing and memorable evening at the Susquehanna Club in New Cumberland for our Annual Lodge Banquet. While listening to live music, members and guests had a chance to participate in a silent auction that ran most of the evening. It was an evening to enjoy fellowship with friends and a chance to make new ones. The Lodge Trading post was open, staffed by the Culp Family, offering a chance for members to purchase Lodge Apparel and Patches. Cody R. led us in the Order of the Arrow Grace. Afterward, we all enjoyed a fabulous meal provided by the friendly Susquehanna Club Staff. Throughout the event, we were able to view highlights of Lodge events from the past year in the slide show presentation.

Vice Chief of Program, Alexander L., acting as Master of Ceremonies, opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Lodge Chief Ean D. led us with the Obligation.  Vice Chief of Administration Keith S. recognized all newly inducted Ordeal Members who were present. Alex then introduced our Lodge Chief Ean D., who presented the Lodge Chief Address. Next, Ean called up the 2020 elected lodge officers to be sworn in; Vice Chief of Administration- Keith S.; Vice Chief of Service- Nick B.; Vice Chief of Program- Alexander L.; Lodge Treasurer- Thomas P.; and Lodge Secretary- Benjamin L. Those officers present were sworn into office. Ean also called up the Chapter Chiefs. All Chapter Chiefs who were present were sworn in: Battlefield- Nathaniel C.; Conococheague Jacob E.; Heritage Trails- Alina S.; Keystone Capital- Cody R.; and Pioneer- Logan T.

Awards were then presented to fellow Arrowmen for outstanding service. Nathaniel C. presented the first James E. West award to Greg Culp, and Keith S. presented the second James E. West award to Kevin Stein. Matt O. presented the first Founders Award to Charles Hulse, and Matt O. presented the second Founders Award to Matt Redding.

Lodge Chief Ean D. spoke about upcoming 2020 events including Spring Fellowship March 6-8, Section Conclave in June, and the next NOAC this Summer in Michigan. The ticket raffle was a big hit with a variety of prizes. At the end of the evening, we concluded our annual silent auction to benefit our Lodge Scholarship Fund. Many thanks to all who donated items and of course to those who participated. A special thanks go out to Trevor LaVerdiere for overseeing the auction. This year we raised over $274.

The Lodge Executive Council encourages all Brothers to mark their calendars now for January 9th, 2021 for next year’s Banquet. We look forward to seeing many new members guests and of course returning members and their guests. Have a safe and fun 2020 full of cheerful service and don’t forget to start gathering items now for the silent auction at next year’s banquet!

Yours In Cheerful Service
