Lodge Banquet
The 2023 Annual Lodge Banquet was held on January 13, 2024, at the Beautiful Susquehanna Club.
All indications are that our Lodge will have another stellar year in 2024 including the second straight year in a row with growth in our numbers, and we certainly started the new year off in style getting our annual Lodge Banquet “groove on” at the beautiful Susquehanna Club in New Cumberland, Pennsylvania.
As with past banquets, attendees were greeted by members from Crew 69 and were treated to beautiful harp and violin music by Blyth Spirits’ Kristen and Anita) and to wonderful food prepared and served by the Susquehanna Club Staff. We still love their signature Apple Pie, but the peanut butter chocolate cake introduced this year was a real hit!
Incoming Lodge Chief Max Iacono introduced and installed his Lodge Officers and shared his wisdom and desires for the future of our Lodge moving forward into 2024. Max’s formula for success is simple but impactful: More Service + More Fellowship = Better Brotherhood.
Vice Chief of Program Aidan Bailin served as Master of Ceremonies leading us in the Obligation and Pledge of Allegiance, introducing presenters of the Founders Awards and other awards and recognitions. Thank you, Aidan, for a job well done.
Founders Awards were presented by Max Iacono to Cody Rager, and by Teri Silar to Kevin Stein. Both Max and Kevin are very deserving of this award. Outgoing lodge advisor Kevin Stein was given a very nice lighted stained-glass replica of our lodge flap which we are sure will adorn his new home in Arizona. The Lodge wishes Kevin all the best with his retirement in Arizona and sincerely thanks him for his many years of service to the Lodge.
First time attendees of the banquet were recognized as were all members holding the Vigil honor including our two newest Vigil Brothers Chris Shenberger and Mike Sargent. As is traditional and always brings a few laughs, all Vigil members present offered their Indian name and English translations.
The silent auction was again a success thanks to Brother Sam Coover and everyone who donated items, earning the Lodge $543.00 that will go into the Lodge’s scholarship fund to help send youth to National Events.
The evening wrapped up with the drawing and selection of door prizes, Max Iacono asking everyone to “circle up” and leading us in our Closing Song, and MC Aidan Bailin thanking everyone and wishing them safe travels home.
Next year’s 2024 Lodge Banquet will be held on January 11, 2025 so please reserve this date in your scheduling calendars now. Members have almost a full year to plan on attending this event, taking and providing pictures for the slide show, and selecting items to donate for the silent auction.
Yours In Cheerful Service, Program Committee
